NALGONDA: A Bangalore crime branch team on Thursday brought Mohammad Razi-Ur Rehman alias Abdul Rehman (34), an alleged accused in the attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), to Nalgonda amid high security and searched his house for three hours in the presence of his family members.

According to reliable sources, they recovered a SIM card, a passport, a cell phone, two ATM cards, Insurance policy document and some phone numbers.

Ashes of some documents were found in the backyard of his house situated in BTS colony near the Collectorate. His wife had already gone on record stating that Bangalore police had seized a SIM card and a passport from him.

A team of sleuths led by DCP Basanvar and ACP V.S.Dsouza brought the accused person to the district police office in a van.

They remained closeted with the Superintendent of Police, M.M.Bhagwat before descending on Rehman's newly-constructed four-room house.

Intense search

In the presence of his family members, including his wife, and revenue officials, the search went on from 12.30 to 3 p.m. Special party armed policemen were deployed in the colony as a precautionary measure and the local DSP, G.Anantha Reddy, personally guarded his house with his team. The arrival of Rehman was not disclosed to his family members and pressmen to prevent unsavoury incidents.

The SIM card was found in a purse and the mobile phone in a suitcase, it is learnt.

The team collected two pairs of clothes from his wife to hand over to Rehman. Three women, including Rehman's wife and his two other male relatives were allowed to stay inside during the search operation.

To avoid the media glare, the officers closed the doors and thoroughly searched every inch of it.

The officers refused to talk to the waiting press reporters. The local police had searched the same house on December 29, 2005, and claimed that they did not find anything.
