Awards for Mammootty, Vikram
The Classic Film Society, Singapore, has announced their Classic film awards for 2005, with Indian film stars Mammootty and Vikram bagging the honours. The `Supreme Star Award 2005' goes to Mammootty while `Star of India 2005' goes to Vikram.
A jury comprising eminent media persons, critics, cineastes, writers, and cultural luminaries was formed to choose the artists for the awards.
The jury, after screening of regional films and award-winning films made in various languages between 2004-2005, selected the two stars.
The duo has been unanimously selected based on their talent, versatility and commendable performance in the recent times, says Raman Ashok, chairman of the Society.
The awards will be presented at a function at the Kallang theatre on February 11.
Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Adoor Gopalakrishanan will also be honouredon the occasion.
