Missionary schools praised

BANGALORE: Christians in India have become victims of a false propaganda despite their immense contribution in the field of social welfare, the former Minister B. K. Chandrashekar said here on Thursday.

Mr. Chandrashekar was speaking at the inaugural function of the 84th annual conference of The Association of Heads of Anglo-Indian Schools in India.

Mr. Chandrashekar, in his keynote address, said: "Although Christians constitute only 2.3 per cent of the population, they contributed 25 per cent to social services sector and 40 per cent of the social work is done by them."

Governor T.N. Chaturvedi was the chief guest.
