Stir threat over withdrawal of NTR memorial film award
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Sripati Rajeswar Rao, president of N.T. Rama Rao Fans Association, has threatened to go on an indefinite hunger strike near the statue of the late Chief Minister at Rasoolpura here if the State Government does not announce the presentation of NTR memorial film award by January 18, the death anniversary of the leader. Mr. Rao and former TDP Minister Kodel Sivaprasada Rao told reporters on Wednesday that the TDP Government had honoured late Chief Ministers of Congress, including M. Channa Reddy, K. Brahmananda Reddy, J. Vengala Rao and K. Vijayabhaskara Reddy, by installing their statues. But, the Congress Government belittled NTR by withdrawing the award. Meanwhile, the State executive of Telugu Yuvatha, the youth wing of TDP, also sought revival of the award.
