Move to drop mark limit opposed

Staff Reporter

KOCHI : All Kerala Private College Teachers Association has opposed the Government move to drop the stipulation that only those students having a minimum of 50 per cent marks in Plus Two examination could appear for the entrance test for professional courses.

In a press release here on Thursday, Thomas Joseph, president of the association, said that the move would only help in commercialising the educational sector.

It would also affect the quality of the higher education being offered in the State.

The Government move comes at a time when several seats were remaining vacant in professional colleges.
