New counter opened at FRIENDS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: FRIENDS Janasevana Kendram has incorporated a new counter for fees relating to various services of the Electrical Inspectorate Department.

From now on, this multi-agency bill collection centre will receive the Inspectorate's inspection fee, electricity duty, the State Electricity Licensing Board fee for wireman, supervisor and contractor as well as various fees relating to the film industry.

FRIENDS officials said they had added the new fee details in the touch-screen system by which the public could obtain information without delay. In addition to this, people from anywhere in the State can make local calls to the call centre (telephone number 155300).

Additional Chief Secretary Lissy Jacob inaugurated the counter by receiving the first fee remittance from Wilson George of Venkiteswara Electricals. Chief electrical inspector K.N. Santhakumaran, State IT Mission director Anand Singh and FRIENDS officials took part in the function.
