BJP will not withdraw support to Naveen

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said "there was no threat to the Naveen Patnaik Government in Orissa." While it could suggest the setting up of a mechanism for resolving problems in the coalition, there was no question of the BJP withdrawing support.

Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar was responding to questions here on a statement made by senior leader and MP from Orissa Jual Oram that the BJP should withdraw support to the Patnaik Government to protest against the death of 12 tribals in police firing at Kalinga Nagar.

Mr. Javadekar said continuous efforts had to be made to keep a coalition government running. Some problems could arise and "there should be a mechanism to sort out all issues."
