Learners and practitioners get a chance to enhance their capability

PONDICHERRY: The Thirteenth International Yoga Festival conducted by the Department of Tourism, which began on Wednesday, was marked by brisk participation by the young boys and girls and also middle-aged persons in various competitions conducted at Muthialpet near here on Friday. Special lectures on the various features, relevance and utility of yoga were organised as part of the festival.

Yoga should be made compulsory in schools as the art would help youth concentrate on their studies, enhance the level of discipline and help them come out with qualitative work, the delegates at the seminar said.

Yoga was found to be effective in relieving workers of their occupational diseases such as asthma, back pain and also respiratory problems, a teacher said.
