Football
KOLKATA: The Mohun Bagan ground became the venue for football of a different kind. It gave stars of the past a chance to come out of the pages of history and relive the golden era when Indian football was at its best. In all eight Olympians, including a host of legendary figures like Sailen Manna, Samar (Badru) Banerjee, Chuni Goswami, Sahu Mewalal, Arun Ghosh, participated in a unique event that brought these stars of the yesteryear back on the field. The galleries were full with spectators most of whom had only heard about the great exploits of these soccer legends. Fighting off the constrictions and infirmity imposed by age these players tried to bring alive the magic that made them heroes in the past. Sports Reporter
