Court directive on booksellers' eviction

Hyderabad: A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday asked MCH authorities not to go ahead with the eviction of booksellers of Sultan Bazaar in the name of drive to clear pavements till January 24.

The Bench was dealing with a petition filed by the Booksellers' Association who complained that the earlier court orders to allot alternative site were not implemented.

Better affidavit

Anand, who filed a writ petition challenging the action of authorities to allot the sports stadium for the plenary session of the Congress party, was allowed to file a better affidavit in the correct format by January 24 as the court found infirmities in the one submitted.
