Jyothi-Mahajyothi Sangamam today

Kochi Bureau

KOCHI: A Jyothi-Mahajyothi Sangamam, organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, will be held at the international stadium at Kaloor on Sunday.

Brahma Kumaris Multimedia chairman B.K. Karuna and Mysore Sub-zone chief P.B. Lakshmiji told presspersons here on Saturday that the spiritual gathering would be led by Dadi Hridayamohini, joint administrative head of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Mount Abu, Rajasthan.

The former Supreme Court judge V.R. Krishna Iyer will preside over the sangamam.

Minister for Sports and Fisheries Dominic Presentation; Mayor Mercy Williams; Sebastian Paul and K. Chandran Pillai, MPs; K.V. Thomas and K. Babu, MLAs, and Greater Cochin Development Authority Chairman Antony Isaac will participate. A Ganasandhya (music night), led by the playback singer M.G. Sreekumar, dance programmes by Kalamandalam Gopinath and R.L.C Sreedhar, and a spiritual magic show by Sankar and Junior Sankar, from Bangalore, will be held.

Rajayogini Hridayamohini arrived at the Nedumbassery airport on Friday evening to a warm reception. Mr. Antony Issac and others received her. Scores of followers were present.

Call for peace

In her message to people of the State, Rajayogini Hridayamohini said she had come to Kochi in the New Year carrying the message of peace.

The world needed peace in abundance.

The lack of peace was mainly caused by bodily consciousness of the people, who were, increasingly, getting self-centred.

According to her the root-causes of all problems were lust, attachment, ego, greed and anger. Spiritual strength was the solution to overcome them.

Science had made tremendous progress, and man had even reached the moon, but he was yet to discover the real meaning of the happenings in his mind, she said.

In a message, Brahmakumar Surendran in Kochi termed the Jyoti Mahajyoti Sangamam "an occasion to think positive."
