Mulayam okays implementation of promises made by officials

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today sanctioned all 160 announcements and promises made by senior government officials during their recent visit and night stay in villages.

Stating that announcements made by the officials would be implemented just like the announcements made by Chief Minister, he said officials who had visited the rural areas would be entrusted with implementing and reviewing the announcements made.

It was for the first time in the State's history that the government was releasing financial and administrative sanctions regarding such announcements, Yadav said in his address to senior officers, who had visited the rural areas last month.

He complemented the officers for their work and said that the Planning Commission had sanctioned more than Rs 19,000 crores for development works.

Expressing his gratitude towards the officers Yadav said they should work towards rehabilitating the destitute. - PTI
