Net-based information kiosk for farmers

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) will launch a novel `Kisan Choupal', an internet- based Touch Screen Information Kiosk and Facilitation Centre, at New Anaj Mandi, Jagadhri on January 9, its Managing Director, Tarun Bajaj, said here on Saturday.

He said that this Facilitation Centre would also display the current and futures prices listed on the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) on an electronic board. A joint effort of HAFED and IFFCO, the `Kisan Choupal' was a significant step towards modernizing and empowering farmers and member Cooperative Societies. The touch screen information portal would enable the farmers to access relevant and timely information at the touch of a finger.
