Withdraw decision, says Swamy
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Saturday urged the Union Government to withdraw the decision to cut the subsidy for the Public Distribution System.
In a statement, he said the decision had been made to obtain Rs. 4,524 crore as revenue. Finance Minister P. Chidambaram was directly responsible for the trend towards bankruptcy, he alleged. ``He has allowed the fiscal deficit to rise above the danger mark of nine per cent of the GDP to 13 per cent,'' he said.
