Lakhera issues orders

Pondicherry: The Lt Governor of Pondicherry issued orders on Saturday according approval of amalgamation of the two grades (Grade I and II) of Posts of Superintendents in government departments of Union Territory of Pondicherry retrospectively from January 1, 1996.

An official source said that the amalgamation had been done to bring the staffing pattern on par with the services in Central government and also in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Associations of Ministerial Staff had raised the demand for the amalgamation for some time now and it had been conceded effecting the amalgamation retrospectively from January 1996 (that was the date when the pay structure recommended by Fifth Pay Commission came into force in Pondicherry).

A spokesman of the Unified Action Committee of the Ministerial Staff thanked the Chief Minister N Rangasamy and also the entire Administration for conceding the demand for amalgamation.
