THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Action Council of State Employees and Teachers on Saturday served a notice on the Government for a token strike on January 24 to press its demand for pay revision. In a statement here on Saturday, the council said that nine years had elapsed since the last pay revision for the State Government employees and teachers. The Government had, recently, extended to February the time given to the Pay Commission to submit its report. This move, with the Assembly elections scheduled to take place soon, was clearly to torpedo the long overdue pay revision exercise, the council alleged. The council staged demonstrations in various centres in the State.
