Bolarum FC in final

HYDERABAD : Bolarum FC moved into the final of the Susai Sr memorial football tournament, organised by Shastri Club, with a 2-0 win against Valluvarnagar in the semifinal at Trimulgherry Village Grounds here on Saturday.

Winger Ramprasad latched onto a neat pass from midfielder Raghu to find the target in the 18th minute of first-half. In the 52nd minute, Sudhir Misra, who was adjudged `best player' later, scored the second goal in a goalmouth melee.

In the under-16 tournament at the same ground, Kamala Nehru Nagar scored a 3-1 win against ZPHS, Tirmulgherry, with Murali Karthik, Karthik and Kapil being the scorers for the winners while Rakesh reduced the margin for the loser.

In another match, St. Antony's defeated Gandhingar 3-1 with Vikram, Deepak and Naresh being successful for victors while Rahul Bheem Rao scored for the losers.

Vinayak wins

Vinayak Sharma defeated Rohit Sarwate 4-0, 4-0 in the boys' singles qualifying first round match of the Lanco-JHIC All India ranking tennis tournament at Jubilee Hills International Centre here on Saturday.

Anil takes gold

P. Anil Kumar of Srikakulam won the gold in the middleweight category bout of the 23rd AP State taekwondo championship here. The results:

Easy for TKR College

TKR Engineering College, Hyderabad, scored a 94-run win against VR Engineering College, Nizamabad, in the SR Champions Trophy inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament in Warangal, according to information received here.

The scores: TKR (Hyd) 168 for four (Yeshwanth 55) bt VR (Nizamabad) 74 for nine.

Mother Theressa (Peddapally) 123 bt Malani Laxmaiah College (Prakasham) 74.

Sri Chaitanya College (Karimnagar) 105 for seven bt Vaagdevi Engg (Warangal) 93 for seven.

St. Stanley (Hyd) 81 (Varun Agarwal four for 21) lost to CBIT (Hyd) 82 for two.

St. Mary's (Hyd) 117 for five (Issac 44) lost to Sanna (Kodad) 96 (Vipin four for 20).

Cricket for blind

Devnar Foundation for the Blind will organise the South Zone cricket tournament from January 8 at Lal Bahadur Stadium here, according to Dr. A. Saibaba Goud, Managing Trustee of the Foundation. Teams from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu besides hosts will vie for top honours.
