"Bangladeshi migrants adding to population woes"

ALLAHABAD: Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar today said the rising population pressure in the country has been further compounded by the growing influx of Bangladeshi migrants.

In his presidential address at the second convocation of UP Rajarshi Tandon University here, Mr Rajeswar expressed concern over the burgeoning population in the country and added that growing influx of Bangladeshi migrants had further aggravated the problem.

Exhorting the students to secure comprehensive knowledge of English and computers, the Governor said a hold on the twin subjects was essential to attain sustainable success in life.

He further said the country was doing exceptionally well both on the industrial and information and technology front's due to abundance of English speaking workforce.

The Governor called upon the teaching fraternity to impart quality education to their wards to enable them to face the challenges of life successfully.

Addressing the convocation, member National Commission on Population Prof Ashish Bose stressed for focussing on containing population growth as well as preserving the environment. - UNI
