New Delhi: With the cold winds continuing to keep Delhiites shivering, there was no let-up in the chill that the Capital has been experiencing over the past five days. Bright sunshine and a clear sky was little consolation for the Delhiites as cold winds brought down the temperature further. While the minimum temperature came down to 4.0 degree Celsius, 0.5 degrees down from last night, the maximum temperature was down to 18.7 degree, two degree Celsius below normal. It is the fifth consecutive day that Delhi has been experiencing chilly winds, which the weathermen say are largely a result of western disturbances and snowfall in several parts of North India. The cold winds meant that even though the minimum temperature was at four degree Celsius, the "chill factor" brought the effective temperature down much lower. In fact, the chill has led to a steady decrease in temperature since Tuesday. The chill could intensify in the next week with the Weather Office predicting light to moderate rain or snow at some places in Himachal Pradesh. --UNI
