Reception to trekkers

KOCHI: A 10-member group that had participated in a Himalayan winter trekking expedition was accorded a civic reception at the Corporation Council Hall on Saturday.

The trekking was organised by the Union Government, the Union Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry and the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI). Kochi Mayor Mercy Williams presided over the function.

She lauded the activities of YHAI and Lawyers Environment Awareness Forum (LEAF) and promised help in the endeavour to plant trees on either side of the approach road to Vypeen bridges.
