St. Patrick's School tops cultural fete

St. Patrick's School at Mananthavady in Wayanad district emerged the champions in the Second North Kerala ICSE-ISC School Cultural Fest-2005 held at Good Shepherd Modern English School, Nilambur, Malappuram, recently.

Good Shepherd Modern English School came second and Auxilium Nava Jyoti School, Kunnamangalam, came third.

Mamatha Divendu of St. Patrick's School won the individual championship at the fete.

IAME fete

Mahlara Public School (MPS), Mavoor, Kozhikode, came second in the Indian Association of Minority Education (IAME) C-Zone fest conducted by Crescent Public School, Chaliyam, Kozhikode last week.

IAME is an organisation working for the upliftment of minorities in Kerala. Around 300 schools are part of the IAME.

IAME Fest 2006 was inaugurated by Kozhikode Mayor M. Bhaskaran. A.P. Bava presided over. Onathara Bakthavalsalam, president, Kadalundy grama panchayat; N.C. Razak, president, Feroke grama panchayat; Ismail Wafa, director, IAME, and Principal, Markaz International School; and A.P. Abdul Kareem spoke on the occasion.

The managing committee of Mahlara Public School (MPS) honoured the winners of the fete at a function convened at the school auditorium on Tuesday.

Teachers were also honoured on the occasion. Principal M. Sheeba presided over. K.V. Ahammedkutty, general secretary, MPS; N. Muhammed Ali, joint secretary, MPS; and Koyakutty, PTA president, MPS, also spoke.

The students of the school took out a procession from the school to the Mavoor town in the evening.

Exhibition

Al Falah English High School, Naduvattam, Palakkad district, organised an exhibition of students' projects in science, mathematics, social science and art and craft. Usman, school management secretary, inaugurated the exhibition. He said that the students had done a commendable job.
