Boxer walks away with top prize

138 participants turned up for the event

CHAMPION DOG: Sri Sharanabaswappa Appa of Mahadasohi Sharanabasaveshwar Samasthan at the third dog show of the Royal Kennel Club in Gulbarga on Sunday.

GULBARGA: Amrinder Singh, proud owner of the two-year-old Boxer, won the overall championship of the third Royal Kennel Dog Show held at the Doddappa Appa Stadium here on Sundauy.

There were 138 participants showing off 14 breeds of dogs at the event. The beautiful Great Dane belonging to Sharunu Bandi won the first runner up prize, followed by the Labrador of Somasekhar Ghangane and Sarfroze Irani. "Pashme" belonging to Sher Khan Fida Hussain got the consolation prize.

Sri Sharanabaswappa Appa, peetathipathi of the Mahadasohi Sharanabasaveshwar Samasthan, himself a great dog lover, inaugurated the programme.
