Police in Japan questioned a U.S. sailor on Sunday after his arrest on charges of robbing and murdering a Japanese woman a case that could stoke opposition to the American military presence in the county. The U.S. Navy handed over William Oliver Reese (21), to Kanagawa Prefectural police on Saturday to face charges in the January 3 killing, police officials said on condition of anonymity, citing protocol. Japanese authorities say Reese fatally beat and robbed Yoshie Sato (56), of about 15,000 yen ($129) on a Yokosuka street near a U.S. Naval base 45 km southwest of Tokyo.
