Bank staff urged to help weaker sections of society

KOZHIKODE: All-India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) general secretary Dilipkumar Mukherjee has asked employees of rural banks to work sincerely towards `upliftment of weaker sections,' which was the objective of rural banks at a time when bank managements are competing with each other to implement profit-centred contemporary economic policies. Mr. Mukherjee was inaugurating the joint general body of the South Malabar Gramin Bank Officers' Federation and South Malabar Gramin Bank Employees Union here on Sunday.

The uplift of weaker sections was the slogan raised by the organisation in its inception itself, he recalled. He asked the bank employees to take upon the responsibility of protecting society, armed with an understanding that only the working class is the energy and spirit of society.
