Four-member gang strikes at Kuditini

BELLARY: A newspaper van was stopped by a four-member gang of robbers and the driver and three passengers in the van were assaulted and robbed of cash and valuables at Kuditini, about 18 km from here, early on Sunday.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rajappa told The Hindu that the van, after dropping the newspaper bundle at Kuditini, was going to Bellary when the gang threw stones at it.

The van overturned after the driver lost control over it. Immediately, the four assaulted the driver and the passengers.

They took away Rs, 2,000 in cash besides gold ornaments from a woman teacher who was travelling by it.
