Four killed, three hurt in accident

KOCHI L: Four people were killed and three injured after the car in which they were travelling rammed into a concrete pillar on the roadside, at around 2 a.m. on Sunday.

Three others, including two children, have been admitted to the Medical Trust Hospital, Ernakulam. Those who lost their lives in the accident are Thomichan Skaria (33) of Palakkad; Lissie Thomas (32) of Kozhikode; Bijoy Philip (22) of Kozhikode and Jacob (45) of Kozhikode. The car was being driven by Bijoy.

Those injured are Lissie's sister Mini (31) and two children Maneesha (6) and Nayana (4). Hospital sources said that Nayana suffered fracture in both her legs. The police said the accident occurred because the driver might have slept. The Tata Indica taxi car was completely destroyed in the accident.

Mini is Lissie's sister. They had come to Ernakulam in connection with a marriage proposal.

The bodies have been handed over to relatives.
