Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The Medical Department (Chennai Division) of the Southern Railway organised a workshop for women employees titled `Empowering Working Women to Wellness', on Saturday.

Malliga Velu, wife of the Minister of State for Railways, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function of the workshop, for which around 145 employees had registered themselves.

" My dream has come true today. I have wanted to organise a workshop for women employees for a long time. Working women have to juggle several responsibilities. They tend to accumulate enormous amountof stress. This workshop is aimed at helping them manage their stress levels, encouraging them to maintain good health and perform better," said G. Narayanan, Divisional Railway Manager.

Vasanthi Narayanan, president, Southern Railway Women's Organisation, said, "Working women have a dual responsibility of managing their homes as well as their career. It is important that they keep a watch on their health."
