Passers-by foil woman's suicide bid

HYDERABAD: A woman, who attempted suicide by jumping into Hussain Sagar on Sunday evening, was rescued by passers-by. Shravani, 29, came to Tank Bund at around 5.30 p.m. and jumped into the lake near boats club.

"Two youngsters -- Venkatesh and Tirupathi -- rescued her," the Ramgopalpet police said. Hailing from Karimnagar district, the woman reportedly fled the house due to some family problems

The police said she was handed over to her parents after being counselled. No case was booked against her.
