KOCHI: Spirituality is like a lotus that blooms from the mud and one need not renounce his family life for embracing spirituality, Rajayogini Dadi Hridayamohini, joint administrative head of Prajapita Brahmakumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at Mount Abu, Rajasthan, said here Sunday. Addressing a spiritual gathering, Jyothi-Mahajyothi Sangamam, in the city, she said that there existed a popular misconception that one needs to renounce the family life to turn towards the path of spirituality. Spirituality can bloom everywhere like the lotus that blooms from the mud. One can embrace spirituality even while leading a family life. The strength of the Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya is the spirituality of eight lakh families, she said. She lighted the Param Jyothi and hoisted the holy flag. V.R. Krishna Iyer, former judge of Supreme Court of India, presided. Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan; Dominic Presentation, Sports and Fisheries Minister; Mercy Williams, Kochi Mayor; K.V. Thomas and K. Babu, MLAs, were among those who attended. Hundreds of devotees of the Vidyalaya had gathered at the Jawahar Lal Nehru International stadium where the programme was held. Cultural programmes were also held.
