Montek's St. Patrick ping-pong connection

Plan panel deputy chief spends a good one hour trying to locate his classroom

HYDERABAD: Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, recalled his fond association with St. Patrick's High School at the school reunion function titled `Nostalgia Day' here on Sunday.

He spent seven years at St. Patrick's High School and from here went to Delhi Public School (DPS), Delhi. The only difference he found between the two was while DPS had three table tennis tables; St. Patrick's HighS chool had only one.

Academically, St. Patrick's High School was as good as DPS. Intellect was mostly developed in schools and how a personality shapes depend on that foundation, he said.

Earlier in the evening, he spent almost an hour on the school premises visiting computer facility, laboratory and even tried to locate his classroom. He was made a patron of St. Patrick's Alumni Network (SPAN).

Director of SPAN Fr. M.L. Phillip urged each Patrician to help schoolmates in addition to helping society.
