KMCH Foundation to be launched soon

Staff Reporter

Coimbatore: A new research organisation called KMCH Foundation for Scientific and Clinical Research will be launched soon, the chairman, Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust, Nalla G. Palaniswami, said here on Saturday. He made the announcement at the inauguration of a conference on good clinical practice at the KMCH College of Pharmacy, following a suggestion from the chief guest, B. Suresh, president, Pharmacy Council of India. Dr. Palaniswami said that the new Foundation would be involved in drug development. In his keynote address, Dr. Suresh said that clinical research groups that had earlier moved out of the country because of the absence of intellectual property protection had begun to reconsider India after receiving a commitment on the issue. India had an advantage because of its talented, English-speaking workforce. Besides this, many foreign companies were comfortable working with Asians.
