dated January 10, 1956: New Planning Adviser

Prof. J.K. Galbraith, Professor of Economics, Harvard University, Boston (Massachusetts) and world famous economist, has been offered the post of Adviser to the Planning Commission by the Government of India. Prof. Galbraith has accepted the offer and will join duty next month. His office will be in Calcutta where he will work in the Indian Statistical Institute with Prof. P.C. Mahalanobis.
