KANNUR: Painting and literary competitions as part of the Kannur University Union festival will begin at the Government Ayurveda Medical College at Pariyaram on January 11. Union chairperson K.V. Lekha said at a press conference here on Monday that competitions would be held in 61 items at eight venues. Nearly 1,500 students from 82 colleges affiliated to the university would participate in the competitions, she said. The three-day event would be inaugurated by shortstory writer T.A. Razakh. M.V. Govindan, MLA, would inaugurate the valedictory function on January 15.
