SHIMOGA: The Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly and senior leader of the BJP, B.S. Yediyurappa, said on Sunday that his party will not join hands with the Janata Dal (S) in sharing power in some zilla and taluk panchayats where no party has been able to secure a clear majority. Talking to presspersons at Sri Ramachandrapur Mutt where he participated in a valedictory function of the 68-day Bharatiya Go Yatra, he described the meeting of the former Prime Minister and President of the Janata Dal (S), H.D. Deve Gowda, with the former Prime Minister, A.B. Vajapayee, in New Delhi as a "courtesy call". He said it had nothing to do with the sharing of power of the Janata Dal (S) with the BJP. He dismissed the rumours in this connection as false and baseless. He said the differences between the Congress and the Janata Dal (S) had indicated that the coalition Government will not last long. Stating that the midterm Assembly elections were round the corner, he said they are likely to be held in May. He said the party would meet in Bangalore on Wednesday.
