KURNOOL: CPI State secretary K. Narayana said the party would oppose any move to stall the irrigation projects in the name of corruption. Talking to reporters at the 15th State conference of the Andhra Pradesh Raithu Sangham here on Monday, he said irrigation projects were the only answer for addressing the agriculture crisis in the State. Mr. Narayana said Polavaram should be constructed at the same site where a huge volume of water could be impounded and diverted to the Krishna basin. "Corruption is unavoidable in places ruled by non-Communist governments, but it should not become the sole reason for shelving down the project,'' he said.
