Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government has tightened security around all religious places and Idgah grounds in the State in view of the Eid-ul-Zuha festival on January 11. Directives had been issued to all district administrations to maintain communal harmony and peace at all cost, State Principal secretary Home Alok Sinha told newsmen here on Monday. Strict vigil would be maintained around religious places, Idgah grounds and traditional sacrificing areas so that anti-social elements do not get chance to foment trouble, he said. Special vigil would also be maintained during offering of prayers on January 11, he said adding intelligence cells had been activated to keep a tab on trouble-mongers. PTI
