Congress holds camp for zilla and taluk panchayat members

DAVANGERE: Shyamanur Shivashankarappa, MLA and treasurer of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, on Sunday urged the newly elected zilla and taluk panchayat members to study every scheme threadbare and get familiarised with the rules and regulations to ensure that officials do not treat them like rubber stamps.

Mr. Shivashankarappa was inaugurating a training camp for the Congress zilla and taluk panchayat members here. He called upon the elected representatives not to blindly accept any version of the officials. The representatives should be aware of the schemes introduced by the Government and see to it that the funds allocated are utilised properly, he said. He said many officials misguide representatives and misappropriate funds.

Congress leader K.C. Kondaiah, Davangere District Congress Committee President Abdul Jabbar and the former MLA Ashwath Reddy were present.
