Spotlight on fog problem

NEW DELHI: In an attempt to find a solution to the fog problem, Northern Railway organised a seminar on "Prevention of Accidents During Foggy Weather'' here on Monday.

The seminar was convened by Northern Railway Chief Safety Officer Amit Mathur and presided over by General Manager V.N. Mathur. It focussed on different aspects of the railway system that contribute to a smooth running of trains.

Law conference

NEW DELHI: The Director-General of Border Security Force, R.S. Mooshahary, inaugurated a law conference of the force here on Monday to take stock of discipline in the force, identify weaknesses and grey areas, and resolve inter-frontier problems.

Stressing the need for maintaining high standards of training and discipline, Mr. Mooshahary said the entire mechanism created under the BSF Act had been designed to provide speedy justice in the force.

Guard of honour

NEW DELHI: The Navy Chief, Admiral Arun Prakash, on Monday visited the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp at Delhi Cantonment.

Admiral Prakash inspected a guard of honour presented by a contingent of NCC cadets drawn from the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. He also interacted with the cadets.

Health workshop

NEW DELHI: A three-day workshop on child and adolescent mental health training will open at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Tuesday.

Organised by the AIIMS Department of Psychiatry in collaboration with Consultants of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the United Kingdom, the workshop will cover topics like psychiatric assessment of children, adolescents and their families and social skills training for adolescents.

Demonstration on Tuesday

NEW DELHI: The Delhi State Committee of the All-India Central Council of Trade Unions and the All-India Progressive Women's Association will hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar here on Tuesday in protest against the recent price hike and reduction in grain quotas on Below Poverty Level cards by the Congress-led Government at the Centre.

NEW DELHI: Activists of the Akhil Bhartiya Janwadi Mahila Samiti on Monday staged a demonstration outside the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karol Bagh to protest against the denial of justice to the family of a newly-wed pregnanat woman.

The protestors cliamed that even after a month of the alleged murder of Chanda, no case had been filed against the family of her in-laws, according to ABJMS Delhi secretary.
