NEW DELHI: A youth, who raped a 15-year-old daughter of his factory owner after abducting her in East Delhi, was on Monday sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment by a city court. Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) J M Malik while awarding sentence to Jagdish alias Jagga said, ``the case reveals that the accused led the weak and meek victim to garden path, ravished her and kept her under his captivity.'' The court acquitted two other co-accused, who, as per the prosecution, had helped the convict in abducting the victim, for want of evidence. The ASJ has also imposed a fine of Rs.5000 on Jagga as the offences under section 366 (abducting woman to compel her to marry) and 376 (rape) of the IPC were found proved. The convict, who was a frequent visitor to victim's house in Sunder Nagar in East Delhi as he used to work in her father's factory, along with two others, on the afternoon of July 8, 2003, forcibily entered into her house. As the victim's parents had gone outside, Jagga and his friends took her away and the convict, later on, raped her for two days after keeping her in captivity. The police on July 10, recovered the girl near a bus stop in the Loni area of north-east Delhi. Jagdish was also arrested on the same day.- PTI
