Udupi: Tourism Minister and district in-charge D.T. Jayakumar on Monday said that the State Government is planning to construct another Yatri Nivas in Udupi for devotees. He was speaking after inaugurating a Yatri Nivas near Rajangana on Monday here. The Yatri Nivas was built at Rs. 36 lakhs.
Boosting pilgrim tourism
Mr. Jayakumar said that the Government is committed to promoting pilgrim tourism. MLC V.S. Acharya said that the Ashta Mutts are planning to acquire land to construct a road from the Udupi Railway Station to Rajangana. Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt said that it is incumbent upon the Government, society and seers to work to develop the area around the Sri Krishna Temple.
