Missing Chennai girls traced in Salem

Special Correspondent

SALEM: Five schoolgirls from Chennai, who had been missing since Monday morning, were traced in Salem in the early hours of Tuesday.

Yamini, Kalaichelvi, Lokeshwari, Saraswathi and Krithika — all studying in a private school at Korattur — were found missing since Monday.

Based on the complaints from their parents, the police launched a search.

The girls claimed that they were abducted in a van from Chennai and on reaching Salem, they were pushed out.

The police are investigating.
