Pravasi celebrations postponed

KOCHI: The 4th Pravasi Bharatiya Day celebrations, organised by All Kerala Gulf Returnees Organisation, has been postponed following the death of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai.

The programme was scheduled to be held here on January 9 and 11 and it has been postponed to first week of February.

Awards

Ten awards for persons who have made contributions in various fields in national and international levels will also be presented at the function.

Varkey (Pravasi Bharatiya Karma Sreshta award), George Neryeparamban (Pravasi Bharatiya Pramukh), E.M. Najeeb (Pravasi Bharatiya Karma Ratna), G. Rajmohan (Pravasi Bharatiya Prathibha), C. George and K.P. Rajendran (Pravasi Bharatiya Sreyas), Eappen Joseph, S.A. Jabbar and Francis Albert (Pravasi Bharatiya Udyog Patr) and K. Prasanna Kumar (Pravasi Bharatiya Thilak) have been selected as winners for this year's awards.
