NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Monday took action against 28 properties as part of its ongoing demolition drive against unauthorised constructions in the Capital. The demolition squads targeted 11 residential and 17 commercial properties in all 12 civic zones except the Narela zone. Major areas where the drive was carried out included Lajpat Nagar, Sadar Bazar, Civil Lines, Lawrance Road, Sadar Bazar, Vasant Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Mayapuri Industrial Area, Mansarovar Garden, Gokulpuri, Babarpur, Karol Bagh and Motia Khan. In West Extension Area and Vivekanandpuri area of Karol Bagh zone, one residential and four commercial properties were sealed. In the wake of a High Court order, the civic body has to target over 18,000 unauthorised structures across the city.
