SHIMOGA: The mini planetarium set up by Vasavi Vidyalaya here in connection with its silver jubilee will be inaugurated by Sri Balagangadharnath Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt on Wednesday.
Secretary of the school S.K. Seshachala told newspersons here on Tuesday that the school is the first in the State to establish a mini planetarium as a teaching aid at the school level.
The planetarium, designed by Goto Opticals of Japan.
An amount of Rs. 5 lakhs has been spent for the projector and Rs. 2.5 lakhs for the infrastructure. It will be possible for 25 students to watch the constellation of stars at a time. Mr. Seshachala said that it is proposed to make the entry free for students visiting in a group. The public will be charged nominal fees.
