CPI(M) leaders' padayatra ends

Party's march reveals pathetic state of panchayat borewells in villages

VIZIANAGARAM: The 40-day-long padayatra covering 1,200 km and 500 villages by CPI(M) district committee secretary M.Krishna Murthy and MLA Kolaka Lakshamana Murthy from Jhanjhavati to Vizianagaram ended here on Tuesday.

At a public meeting organised on the occasion, the leaders said that 70 per cent of borewells in panchayats they covered were not working. Those cultivating Government land were not given pattas.
