DU teachers seek funds from UGC

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A delegation of Academics for Action and Development (AAD), a teachers' organisation, met University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Rajshekharan Pillai on Tuesday and demanded immediate release of allocated grants to Delhi University colleges.

According to the teachers, many colleges of Delhi University are facing crisis as they are yet to receive their grants from the UGC. Several members of the staff are yet to receive their salaries. Many pensioners, too, have reportedly not received their pensions. Any further delay in release of grants would affect the academic activities, they said.
