22 new traffic police stations soon, says Hooda

CHANDIGARH: Policing in the areas of Haryana around the National Capital of Delhi is being strengthened to make it at par with that of Delhi and 22 new traffic police stations are also being set up in the State, the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said while chairing the first meeting of the Joint Task Force here on Tuesday.

Mr. Hooda said that the law and order situation in the State had improved considerably and nobody would be allowed to take law in his own hands. A separate rural district had been created in Faridabad and a Superintendent of Police had been posted there.

The Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Home), Prem Prashant, said that the Union Home Ministry had accepted the proposal of the State Government to include more equipment, arms and vehicles in the plan for strengthening policing in the NCR and it would increase the cost of the plan from Rs. 37 crores to Rs. 44 crores.

The Director General of Police, Nirmal Singh, urged the entrepreneurs not to bribe the local policemen to get any issue resolved.

Mr.Hooda disclosed that the 250 MW unit seven of Panipat Thermal Power Plant was being repaired on war footing and it would be functional by January 15.
