Chandigarh: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is welcome to contest from Punjab to enter Parliament at the end of his Rajya Sabha term later this year, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said here on Tuesday. Answering questions at a press conference here, he said he learnt from the media that the Prime Minister's term was to end this year and he may contest from Punjab. ``Neither the Prime Minister nor any one in the Congress High Command has talked to me on the subject'', Capt. Singh added. He said if the Prime Minister wished to contest for the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha from the State, ``we would welcome it''. PTI ``If the Prime Minister wants to contest, the people will pave for his election,'' the Chief Minister told a questioner who pointed out there was neither a vacancy of the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha from the State.
