CHENNAI: The actor playing Kamal Hassan's wife in his latest venture Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, directed by Gowtham Menon, is Bengali star Kamalinee Mukherjee.

The actor has done a role in the Telugu hit Anand.

Her new film Style with Prabhu Deva, directed by Lawrence, is set for release this Friday all over Andhra Pradesh.

She is also acting in the Telugu film Godavari.

Director Gowtham Menon says Vettaiyadu Vilayadu is a love story with a difference.

"There is action in the film but let me say that Kamal Hassan and Jothika star in the film as mature lovers."

Kamal plays a Deputy Commissioner of Police, who goes to the US to investigate a case.

The film is unlikely to have exciting car chases, but will certainly have romance and beautiful songs.

The director is reluctant to part with more information.

But, the fact that Kamalinee has been roped in for an important role is out.

Her shoot begins after Pongal.

Harris Jayaraj is the music director for the film, and Ravi Varman handles the camera.
