BANGALORE:
This city, which has produced some great scientists, has lately been in the news for the wrong reasons related to a reputed institution of scientific research. Not that the scientists have let the random act of terror distract them from their chosen pursuits.
At the recent Indian Science Congress session, M. Vijayan from the city received the Prof. G.N.Ramachandran Award for Excellence in Biological Sciences and Technology, instituted by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Prof. Vijayan is known for his sustained contributions to research in the area of structural biology and molecular biophysics.
He is known name in the field macromolecular crystallography.
